INSPECTION

Bids should be made based on your personal inspection and assessment of the vehicle. The information provided in this listing is for guidance only. Typically, vehicles are not driven or tested; descriptions are based on an engine start-up only, unless otherwise stated. There may be additional damages, mechanical issues, or body blemishes not listed, so a full inspection is highly recommended before bidding.

Standard auction practice allows for vehicles to be inspected and started during viewing, but not driven. Due to Health and Safety regulations, bidders cannot test-drive vehicles. However, you may start the engine, test dashboard functions, and open the bonnet to view the engine.

To arrange an inspection, click the “Ask Question / Arrange Inspection” button under the bidding section at the top of this page to schedule a suitable time with the seller.

If you live interstate or cannot inspect the vehicle in person, we recommend organising a third party to inspect it on your behalf. This could be a family member, friend, or your preferred mechanic.

PAYMENT

If you are the successful bidder at the end of the Auction/Buy Now listing, the Buyer’s Premium will be automatically charged using the default payment method listed in your My Account. This charge covers the Buyer’s Premium ONLY and does not serve as a deposit or contribute towards the item’s purchase price.

Once we receive payment for the Buyer’s Premium, your contact details and the seller’s contact details will be exchanged. You will be notified via email and/or SMS, and the seller’s contact details will be displayed on the item’s auction page.

The winning bidder is responsible for paying the winning bid price directly to the seller. Both buyer and seller must communicate to finalise the transaction, including arranging payment and collection of the item.

GST & Buyer’s Premium:

The Buyer’s Premium is a fee charged to the successful bidder of an Auction or Buy Now sale, calculated based on the final bid price. Most sales attract a Buyer’s Premium, which may vary depending on the item’s category. The applicable Buyer’s Premium rate is displayed just below the Bid buttons on the Auction or Buy Now page and in the Buyer’s Premium section on this page. The Buyer’s Premium is generally calculated as a percentage of the final sale price, with a fixed Minimum Fee.  Items sold in the Marketplace are not auction items, therefore do not attract a Buyer’s Premium.
